Halloween? NOT at Chavez Ravine

I love the game of Baseball.

I've been a FAN of the

since I can remember (79/80) which puts me at age 7/8.

However, I am a baseball fan first and do my best to not get caught up in any "hating" on of another team or another player on the opposition.

Growing up as a Dodger Fan you're "supposed to" "hate" the Giants.  As you grow older, hopefully you realize that hatred, of any kind, is not the best attitude, right?

When I go to AT&T park for the "Dodger game," I find myself having good baseball talks with the fans around me.

I don the Dodger Blue and even engage in some friendly smack, but there is ALWAYS a mutual appreciation and respect.

This season, at Dodger Stadium, I noticed something that really got my blood pumping: Orange and Black colored LA Dodger hats.  My first thought was, "Nooooooooo, how can THAT be?!  Giants colored Dodger hats?!"

Dodger Blue or SF Orange?

I asked the representative at the "hat kiosk" about those particular hats and she informed me that THOSE are Pepperdine colored hats and they do sell.  With a rolling of the eyes I reply with a, "Well, that maybe true, BUT, as far as I'm concerned THOSE are San Francisco Giants colors and they should NOT be sold here."

Now, this MIGHT sound funny to you, the reader, but it is NOT to me.

I am just a passionate fan that although is "ok" seeing the Orange/Black colors AT the Stadium, I feel like THOSE should ONLY be of the visiting team they represent and NOT the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Would the Lakers sell a "Celtic Green" hat at Staples?  (hopefully NOT!)

I know I am not the only one that feels this way as I have polled many fans.  So, please, if you don't mind taking an extra moment out of your busy day PLEASE follow this link and "sign" my petition to REMOVE the Orange/Black LA hats from the stadium:

Thank you for your time and consideration

PS:  Orange and Black is Meant for Halloween NOT for
Los Angeles Dodgers

MLB Post Season: Dodgers Foam Party

The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars and Motor Kings

A friend reminded me to watch The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars and Motor Kings to be reminded of what Baseball is really all about.  I knew what he meant.

Sports certainly provide us with entertainment.

And, within each sport and each game there is certainly their own set of "unwritten rules."  These unwritten rules are spoken of, quite often, in the sport of baseball.

Recently, the

Dodgers beat the Giants 17-0

at AT&T Park in San Francisco.  Zach Greinke pitched in that game.  He also hit a home run.  The game was already WELL out of hand by THAT point (12-0).

The Dodgers, this year, have made it tradition that after a player comes back into the dugout after hitting a home run they all celebrate with a little dance under the fallout of the "Bubble Machine."

A Foam Party.

Now, it's fun AND Entertaining, but...

...is IT REALLY necessary to have a

Foam Party, in a visitor's park,

when the game is out of hand,

AND your pitcher goes YARD?!

Perhaps, one of the game's "un-written rules" under the heading "CELEBRATION," subset IV.2342 says, "when a game is out of hand, and your pitcher hits a home run, it is strongly suggested that
NO celebration occur."

Shit.  That's a lot of detail for an "unwritten rule!"

Whether Don Mattingly agrees with the Foam Party celebrations or NOT, the Dodgers have maintained this tradition during the season with no exceptions.  You have to respect that.  And, you have to respect that their manager allows "them," his team, to enjoy themselves how THEY want to.

Bottom line is this:

The Dodgers have had FUN this season.  The FANS, no doubt, have had FUN this season.

It is this ONE very key ingredient that may win them their first World Series Title since 1988.

Sure, they have Kersh and Greinke.  Matt Kemp, for all intent and purpose is BACK, and other guys in the lineup are stepping up.

But, I hope these Dodgers continue doing what they have established going back to last year.

Have FUN.

Don't tighten up and just let it fly baby, and if they start to forget a little bit about having fun just go back and watch some of this:

"Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars and Motor Kings."

The Fisher King

Spring is upon us.  A NEW DAY has arrived.  Might the Holy Grail that the Lakers seek be just ahead?  Perhaps.

The organization definitely has a golden opportunity in front of them with the list of excellent candidates for the now vacant coaching position.

Derek Fisher's name has been one that has surfaced, and many Fans like the idea of Mr. Fisher becoming the next Lakers Coach.  Meanwhile, I think ol' "D-Fish" has some other business matters to tend to, like a quest for another NBA Championship Ring.

Ciao D'Antoni

Saying Goodbye to the now "former" Lakers Coach will not be difficult for many many Laker Fans.  Yours Truly is one of those fans.

As I sit here at 11:26 pm [April 30, 2014] to start describing my thoughts and feeling on the NEWS that Mike D'Antoni resigned I can only begin with this,

   "Today Was a Good Day.."

MIKE D DAY: MIKE D'ANTONI'S LAST DAYS

D Day is a term the military uses for, "the day on which a combat attack or operation is to be initiated." -Wikipedia
April 16, 2014  is the last day of the regular season and I believe exit interviews will commence the next day on April 17, 2014.  I contend that there will be a mutually parting of the ways.   Mike D'Antoni's D-Day (#MikeDDay) is set for April 18, 2014.

Lakers Season Sending Shockwaves Throughout SoCal

An earthquake occurred in the Los Angeles area on March 28, 2014.  It has been reported as a 5.1 Magnitude on the Richter Scale and occurred just after 9 pm PST.

Although it has been reported that the earthquake took place around the La Habra area, sources close to Gonzo Sports News have said that the epicenter may have been in El Segundo, CA.

FREE TACOS, WE WANT TACOS FOR LOS ANGELES LAKERS FANS, TACO TACO TACO MAN: #Free2Tacos

It's been one of the Worst Seasons Ever Recorded by the Los Angeles Lakers Franchise, so the small victories, battles and silver linings might be harder to find.

One happened last night. "Taco, Taco MAN.."

Not ONLY did the LAKERS beat the Orlando Magic 103-94, thanks in Large Part to a CAREER DAY by F Jordan Hill and Swaggy P's 26, but the FANS in attendance received TWO FREE TACOS:

Often you will hear Fans at the Game, with accompaniment by Organ, chanting "We Want TA-COs...WE WANT TA-COS..." towards the ends of games (when winning).

Well, by "often," I mean that in usual "Laker" years...

It hasn't happened THAT often this season and the fans got their #Free2Tacos for just the EIGHTH time this season.

Perhaps, we spoiled Lakers Fans, must learn to appreciate those tacos more rather than expect our free lunch the day after each game.

Nick Young's House Broken Into Sunday Night

LA LAKERS @LATIMES @latimeslakers tweeted today (March 24, 2014) an Article in the LA Times regarding a burglary that took place while the Los Angeles Lakers were playing at the Staples Center on Sunday Night versus the Orlando Magic.
