Team USA Basketball cruises to victory over Argentina: In Swoosh vs DirecTV, Swoosh wins

I had asked a fan during the halftime of Team USA versus Agentina if she thought the first half felt more competitive than the score indicated.  It was 56-33.  She nodded.

watching andy and floyd was more entertaining

Floyd Mayweather cruised in at    some point in the first half Friday Night (7/22/16) in DTLV  as   Andy Bernstein (seen background   of photo) snapped pics of the Admiral (David Robinson) who was in the crowd.  The game between Argentina and USA somehow felt like a bout between NBA and Lakers Team Photographer Andy Bernstein, and former multi-title, multi-divisional world champion and professional boxer (one of the Greatest of All-Time) Floyd Mayweather.  I think Andy would have done better against Floyd as compared to Team Argentina did against the U.S. OUCH. (he studies a lot of film-photog joke).

Nocioni trying to shake some sense into Ref
     Argentina was playing balls-out

Nocioni played exceptionally well and absolutely had a legitimate gripe at the calls that he and his front-court mates were receiving.  These guys were playing great position defense with their hands up and received calls of hand contact that sent players like Boogie Cousins and DeAndre Jordan to the free-throw line.  I think he barely hit the net on one of the attempts...

Anyways, DeAndre Jordan makes twenty million dollars a year and cannot hit a free-throw

but...

He can sky, pull-down boards, swat shots and get out and finish off a perfectly or non-perfectly thrown pass from Kyrie.  He did that against Argentina and there was nothing they could do.  His movement, agility and athleticism was too much for Argentina.

When the referees gave those calls to TEAM Swoosh
and took some great post defense away; the game was over.
Team Swoosh vs DirecTV / VISA

Or, perhaps it was over when Kevin Durant opens the game with a breakaway dunk. The opening of half two with another break-away jam?

My buddy said it "was competitive at 3-2.."  Funny

Nocioni, right or wrong, continues to gripe at the referees and eventually he leaves the game as Argentina's leading scorer and rebounder with ten and seven.

I am still amazed that the final score was 111-74.  It really did seem more competitive but if you missed the first half of this contest, as many fans did who stood in line for over an hour-and-a-half, you missed the better (half) basketball.

Argentina was getting stomped.  Can you believe a team with NBA veteran and world champion, Manu Ginobli, Luis Scola, Nocioni.. ok, we are really starting to drop off here..and Dallas Maverick recent acquistion Nicolas Brusini lost by so many? (I kid. And.. Jason Kidd is a Coach)

DirecTV had guys like Deck on the bench; Meanwhile, Swoosh had Draymond.. and Kyle

Who?  I said, "Bru-sini." I guess Dallas recently acquired him.  When Argentina decides to pull that collection of all-stars and play "their bench" it becomes like watching a group of elementary P.E. school children playing against a championship High School varsity squad.  Block, (dribble 2x) PASS... DUNK! Um..Do you guys turn the scoreboard off when the lead is over 30 in the first half? NO? OK.

Don't get me wrong, the dunks, the oops, the lobs and the break-aways are awesome.

And, if you asked people that if they knew that Team USA was going to win by that great of a margin would they still want to see all those easy buckets and break-aways?  Uh, hell yes.

USA does not lose any steps when Draymond Green replaces Kevin Durant.  When Kyle replaces Kyrie.  Sure, there might be guys that come to mind on even an absurd assembly of talent like this that you want "to drop."

Still.

"The world" might not have an answer for DeAndre Jordan.  These teams can't focus on a DeAndre defensively because Klay and Dray will be dropping treys from twen-tay six feet.  KD?  He can do whatever he wants.  Melo?  Paul George...there goes DeMar..and JB.

Boogie is just bulling people over.  His stats read nicely on this one (14 pts/15 pts) but his play seemed sloppy and some people thought he had hit the Vegas Buffets too hard (look for the "Vegas Buffets" to be considered in the next NBA expansion..)

Paul George looked smooth.. fluid. Boogie had stats but seemed lethargic

Is it good sportsmanship to roll people by forty plus?  Does it matter?  This is the warm-up to the Olympic Games where it does matter to bring home Olympic Gold.  If USA backs off, decides to not push pace, decides to pull-back on break-away plays then it will not be as entertaining.

It seems there isn't a whole lot anyone can do about it...

It is going to be extremely difficult for the World to contain DeAndre Jordan (blocking shot)
