MLB Post Season: Dodgers Foam Party

The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars and Motor Kings

A friend reminded me to watch The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars and Motor Kings to be reminded of what Baseball is really all about.  I knew what he meant.

Sports certainly provide us with entertainment.

And, within each sport and each game there is certainly their own set of "unwritten rules."  These unwritten rules are spoken of, quite often, in the sport of baseball.

Recently, the

Dodgers beat the Giants 17-0

at AT&T Park in San Francisco.  Zach Greinke pitched in that game.  He also hit a home run.  The game was already WELL out of hand by THAT point (12-0).

The Dodgers, this year, have made it tradition that after a player comes back into the dugout after hitting a home run they all celebrate with a little dance under the fallout of the "Bubble Machine."

A Foam Party.

Now, it's fun AND Entertaining, but...

...is IT REALLY necessary to have a

Foam Party, in a visitor's park,

when the game is out of hand,

AND your pitcher goes YARD?!

Perhaps, one of the game's "un-written rules" under the heading "CELEBRATION," subset IV.2342 says, "when a game is out of hand, and your pitcher hits a home run, it is strongly suggested that
NO celebration occur."

Shit.  That's a lot of detail for an "unwritten rule!"

Whether Don Mattingly agrees with the Foam Party celebrations or NOT, the Dodgers have maintained this tradition during the season with no exceptions.  You have to respect that.  And, you have to respect that their manager allows "them," his team, to enjoy themselves how THEY want to.

Bottom line is this:

The Dodgers have had FUN this season.  The FANS, no doubt, have had FUN this season.

It is this ONE very key ingredient that may win them their first World Series Title since 1988.

Sure, they have Kersh and Greinke.  Matt Kemp, for all intent and purpose is BACK, and other guys in the lineup are stepping up.

But, I hope these Dodgers continue doing what they have established going back to last year.

Have FUN.

Don't tighten up and just let it fly baby, and if they start to forget a little bit about having fun just go back and watch some of this:

"Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars and Motor Kings."
