The Baseball Gods

Thor, Apollo, and Zeus might be familiar to you if you know a little Greek Mythology.  Baseball's gods may not have any names, although some might argue names like, Babe, Mantle and even Jeter.  The Lore that lay in the heavens and the skies above that somehow manage to reveal themselves in the most remarkable of ways.

Baseball Gods.

Perhaps happenstance, circumstance, situation or luck, the Baseball Gods come out in the muck,
The rain, the snow or brightest of glows may not derail this loco-motive that run down the tracks.
Sometimes at a slow clip this engine drives
And drives towards the end of..

The line
What Line
That Line
Don't

Don't What?
Don't touch THAT line.  OR THIS.  Or any other Line.
Gee.  OKAY.  I won't cross these lines
And don't cross these lines either (pointing to the team and players)

Rules appear
They surface
Amongst the snarliest of sneers
And the cheeriest of cheers

Karma?  Luck?  Skill?  What?
What becomes apart of this game of love
On the diamond under the heavens above?
What tells that train to chug?

It IS out there like it or not
Belief, no belief, one doesn't have to be taught
To see and understand what is abundantly clear.
Baseball Gods.

They won't disappear
They won't be dismissed
Their truth is unfaltered
Their wrath without fear

So be mindful of the Gods that can bury you down
Respect yourselves and your visiting town
Because when YOU'RE down and on YOU'RE last out
The baseball Gods may just come about

And all of a sudden the fates do change
with a swing of a bat the fence is in range
1 run, 2 run, 3 runs or more
Baseball's history is altered by the score

And it stays protected in Lore
Buried deeply
Cleanly
and, in tact

Baseball Gods

Coming down that track

Scott Van Slyke Hits his 11th HR: LISTEN to Vin's Call

On September 13, 2014 the Dodgers beat the San Franciso Giants 17-0.  Zach Greinke got his 15th win and contributed in the 24 Total "hit parade" with a home run himself.  The night before, the Dodgers got beat 9-0 by the Giants.  There is one more game in the series which is on Sunday (9/14/14) at 1:10 PST.

A rubber match game with the series 1-1 I hope, as a Dodgers fan, that the slight over celebration in certain moments when the Dodgers lead was already out-of-sight and insurmountable does not come back to bite?

The baseball gods may rear in spite of Kershaw's start drawing near.

Are foam party's really necessary with the game out-of-hand and your pitcher puts one in the stands?

Beware,

the Baseball Gods
