Before Dan D'Antoni vacated for West VA., and Marshall U recently, he graced us with some basketball knowledge:

“You’re playing guys that are skilled. You see that across the line. Miami has shown that. I thought we showed it at times in Phoenix. Your five best guys are going to get on the floor and play, and you’ll find the right position for them.”

Verry enlightening, Dan. Ummm.... well, it certainly seemed as though the coaching staff of Los Angeles Lakers struggled with identifying and playing their best five players, regardless of health and availability, ALL season. And, doesn't EVERY NBA player have skill?
Speaking of skill, a lot of it was left on
the bench this season,
like Chris Kaman:

How many games did it take for the Lakers to start Jordan Hill? Oh, and he was sent back to the bench as well. By skill, Damn Dan, you must have meant "guard position, " because the "Flyin D'Antoni Bros Act" missed out on ample opportunity adapting a style to the strengths of this year's Lakers Squad.
As Verry Sanders reminds us on GonZo Sports Talk [CLICK], Mike D'Antoni said all season long that,
"We're still figuring things out.."
Apparently, "Dan"
hadn't come up with "SKILL BALL"
and the mystical, magical concept that
you should
play your best five players.
